Glenn J. Berger is a partner in the Energy Project Finance and Development Group of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Now based in Washington, Mr. Berger was previously a resident partner in Skadden’s Los Angeles office from 1989 to 1994, where he headed the firm’s West Coast energy/project finance practice.
Mr. Berger has handled both U.S. and international energy/project finance work involving lending institutions, equity participants, and investment banks for over 20 years. In addition, he handles project development work involving federal and state regulatory issues, and contract negotiations pertaining to such subjects as power sales, steam sales, tolling agreements, fuel procurement contracts, and engineering and construction contracts. He also works on federal and state regulatory issues involving the Federal Power Act, the Public Utility Holding Company Act, and the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act, as well as administrative energy litigation.
Before joining Skadden, Mr. Berger was a trial attorney with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). He chaired FERC’s Cogeneration Task Force from 1980 to 1982.
Mr. Berger received his BS from Cornell in 1975, and his JD from Vermont Law School in 1978.
