Protecting Endangered Atlantic Salmon from the Harmful Impacts of Dams in Maine
In 2010 and 2011, the Clinic worked with the Center for Biological Diversity toward protecting endangered Atlantic Salmon from the devastating effect of dams in Maine. Student clinicians obtained and reviewed voluminous public records from federal and state agencies concerning Atlantic salmon and dams in Maine. In addition, Clinic and CBD representatives met with officials at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to discuss the new processes underway for bringing dam owners into compliance with the requirements of the Endangered Species Act.
