International Coastal Cleanup Event Hosted by Student Group

September 21, 2013
10:00am - 12:00pm
Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center, Burlington, VT

Please join the VLS Ocean and Coastal ("OCL") Committee in their first-annual International Coastal Cleanup. Every fall, ocean-lovers around the world clean up a local beach and record all the trash they find.  All the data is then submitted to Ocean Conservancy and compiled into an item-by-item, location-by-location Ocean Trash Index. International Coastal Cleanup Day is the world's largest volunteer effort to clean up waterways and the ocean. Those interested can click to view the results from last year's cleanup.

This Saturday, OCL is participating in a cleanup hosted by the Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center in Burlington, Vermont.  ALL are invited to meet at the South Royalton Green between 8:00-8:30AM to arrange a carpool. The plan is to leave NO LATER that 8:45AM. Everyone who participates should bring a good pair of gloves and sturdy shoes. Also, those driving in the carpool will be reimbursed for gas money. For more information, please contact Emily Migliaccio.
