I went to Vermont Law School to be ready to work on sustainable planning and redevelopment of urban areas.”
Jeff Fucci is dedicated to his New Jersey roots, the Meadowlands. Not the stadium, but the land that surrounds it. "Before Vermont Law I worked for the Meadowlands Commission in my home state, working on the environmental restoration of the marshes. I went to Vermont Law School to be ready to work on sustainable planning and redevelopment of urban areas." Possibly back where he started, possibly in Asbury Park, a Jersey spot he and Bruce Springsteen both find inspirational.
In the Meadowlands, Fucci was moved by watching the landfills and polluted waters he knew from childhood being turned into parks and solar arrays by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission. "Maybe you have to be a scrapper to enjoy the weird dichotomy of the place, but anything on the ground is my favorite kind of work."
"At Vermont Law I have acquired the skills I need: land use issues, water conservation, title access, easements for energy infrastructure. The energy question is big. It's the big question of our time."
