Alliance to Host Vigil on Wednesday Supporting Gay Community
October 12, 2010
SOUTH ROYALTON, VT -- The Vermont Law School student group Alliance will host a candlelight vigil Wednesday to memorialize the gay youths who have committed suicide across the United States in recent weeks. The event, which is from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
The vigil will include moments of silence, songs, a non-denominational blessing, words of remembrance for the deceased students and an opportunity for participants to share words of support.
The vigil starts at the Oakes Hall parking circle, proceeds to the South Royalton Town Green and returns to the South Royalton Café on campus for a potluck reception.
The Alliance is a coalition of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and straight members of the law school who promote equality before the law.
