Professor Stefanie Sidortsova is an Environmental Law & Policy Fellow, teaching Introduction to the Study of Law and Environmental Law in the online Master of Environmental Law & Policy program. She joined Vermont Law School’s faculty in 2008 and has served in various capacities in both the Legal Writing and Academic Success departments. She has created, developed, and taught courses and workshops in legal writing, exam writing, study skills, bar exam skills, and bar preparation.

Professor Sidortsova began her legal career as a transactional attorney and has experience in environmental, financing, commercial real estate, and corporate matters. She also spent several years in government relations, lobbying state and federal lawmakers on issues related to health care reform. She is a member of the state bars of Arizona and Vermont.

Professor Sidortsova serves as an ex officio board member of the Jirani Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and support of vulnerable children in Kenya. She served as the organization’s president from 2004–2009. She also serves on the Board of Directors for New Earth, a non-profit organization that offers artistic enrichment, educational programs, and transition services for at-risk and incarcerated youth between the ages of 13 and 18. She is a former member of the Vermont State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.

Professor Sidortsova received her JD from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University and her BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is currently pursuing an MA in English from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College.
