COURSE OF STUDY

Vermont Law School's partnership with the Department of Land Economy of the University of Cambridge enables selected VLS students to earn in three and a half years a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Vermont Law School and Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the University of Cambridge. In the usual course of study, students complete four semesters at VLS, followed by two semesters at Cambridge, and then one final semester at VLS.

The following master's degrees are available to Vermont Law School students selected for this program: MPhil in Real Estate Finance, MPhil in Environmental Policy, MPhil in Planning, Growth and Regeneration.

Students must apply separately to and be accepted by VLS and the University of Cambridge for admission to each element of the program. Applicants to the dual degree program must be approved by VLS before applying to Cambridge. Application to the University of Cambridge will ordinarily occur during the fall of the student's second year of study at VLS.

Each school applies its own grading system to the students in the program. Students must be in good academic standing at both schools to remain in the program.
