In the clinic she guides students in using law and policy to make food production more just, sustainable, and humane. The clinic is currently developing a handbook that promotes the legal rights of migrant farm workers; Aurora also guides student work around improving animal agriculture. In other semesters the clinic has developed legal tools for farmers’ markets, clarified labels on animal products, and explored ways to facilitate farmland access and transfer, among other projects. Aurora previously worked at the Center for Food Safety, litigating various sustainable agriculture issues, and was a judicial clerk at the Oregon Court of Appeals. She holds an LL.M. in animal law from Lewis & Clark Law School, where she focused on animal agriculture; a J.D. and certificate in environmental law, also from Lewis & Clark Law School; and a B.A. in linguistics from Reed College. As a law student Aurora was Editor in Chief of Animal Law Review and a research scholar, and she has authored and coauthored several publications on animal agriculture and environmental law.
