Biography

Sean Nolon comes to Vermont Law School as associate professor of law and director of the Dispute Resolution Program. In his positions as director of the Land Use Law Center and as executive director of the Theodore W. Kheel Center on Environmental Solutions at Pace University School of Law, Professor Nolon designed and implemented JD curricular offerings as well as web-based services to facilitate distance learning. He served as an associate at Melito and Adolfsen, coordinating litigation in environmental cases and class actions. He has extensive experience in consensus building and dispute resolution and has trained hundreds of local officials, environmentalists and developers under grants from the Hewlett Foundation, the Surdna Foundation and many government agencies. Professor Nolon has taught at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and at Pace University School of Law. In 2007 he was recipient of the New York State Bar Association Environmental Law Section Honors Award.
