File Sharing Policy (From VLS Student Handbook)

Peer to peer (P2P) file sharing is not permitted on the VLS network. P2P file sharing activities include, but are not limited to, the use of file sharing software such as Limewire, Kaaza, IRC, Bit Torrent, Gnutella, E-Donkey, E-Mule and BearShare. Any P2P file sharing that takes place on the VLS campus using the VLS network will be considered a Code of Conduct violation. A student in violation of this policy will be referred to the Assoc. Dean of Student Affairs and Diversity by the Director of Technology. The Information Technology department closely monitors the network, tracks down non-compliant systems and proves policy violations.
