Ben enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when he was 19 years old and served in a variety of capacities. Then, in 2008, he commissioned as a Marine Officer and went to law school at Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School (AJMLS). While in law school, Ben was a member of the moot court board, competed on trial team, and was the Executive Articles Editor for the AJMLS Law Journal. He spent his summer internships on active duty. He graduated cum laude from law school in 2011 and then went through the Marine Officer training pipeline in 2012. He was then stationed aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California where he served as a Special Victim’s Qualified Prosecutor. As a prosecutor, he investigated and tried cases involving narcotics, larceny, conspiracies, assaults and batteries, attempted murder, and the gamut of violent sex crimes involving both adult and child victims.
Ben left the Marine Corps in 2016 and joined the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant United States Attorney in the San Diego Office. He is currently assigned to investigate and prosecute large-scale conspiracies involving international and domestic narcotics trafficking, human trafficking, money laundering, and racketeering activities.
