Biography

Brett Stokes is an Assistant Professor of Law and Director of the Center for Justice Reform Clinic (CJRC) at Vermont Law and Graduate School. Brett is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, and University of Colorado Law School. Brett brings to CJRC nearly a decade of immigration practice experience. He has successfully handled a large number of cases, ranging from complex removal defense, family-based and humanitarian immigration cases, and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals. In his time at VLGS, Brett has been instrumental in expanding students’ involvement in a wide array of unique practice opportunities not previously available to VLGS students. He hopes to continue to expand these opportunities through the CJRC’s mission to provide robust representation to Vermonters involved in the immigration and criminal justice systems.
