In June, Energizers Ace Dantzler-Woodruff JD’25, Taylor O’Hare MELP’24, and Sam Privett JD’25 participated in the eighth annual Energy Transitions Conference hosted by the University of Eastern Finland Law School. Dantzler-Woodruff presented a paper the group coauthored with Professor Mark James and Will Fridlund titled “Challenges and Obstacles in the Deployment of Electric Battery Storage: Case Studies of Interconnection and Market Design in the United States, Great Britain, and the European Union.”
The conference gathers academics and energy professionals from around the world to discuss critical issues affecting the transition to a clean energy economy. Privett summed up the experience with the following remarks.
“The conference featured a wide array of panels covering cutting-edge topics in the energy sector, including the development of hydrogen energy, mineral rights, the ongoing energy transition, and environmental justice. We had the privilege of engaging with over 50 speakers from around the world, including renowned experts such as Dr. Ruven Fleming from University of Groningen and Prof. Tina Soliman Hunter from Macquarie University.
This experience not only broadened our energy knowledge base but also allowed us to forge valuable connections with fellow professionals in the field. These newfound relationships are sure to prove instrumental throughout our careers, contributing to our professional growth and potentially leading to exciting collaborations in the future.
