Land Back Run/Walk 5K Fundraiser

November, 13th, 2021: This event, sponsored by NALSA and EJLS, is a 5K run/walk fundraiser. Proceeds will go to the Koasek Traditional Band of the Koas Abenaki Nation, a Vermont State recognized tribe, to help purchase a Tribal land base. The Tribe’s homeland is located here in Central Vermont and New Hampshire, with Koas being the Abenaki name for the area in which VLS is located. The event begins at 11am in the VLS parking lot behind the Cornell library. The entrance fee is $10 and a ticket can be purchased the day of the event. The route heads west along North Windsor Street/Back River Road until the iron bridge of Bridge Street and returns along the same route to the parking lot. From 11-12 is the race portion for those who would like to be timed. From 12-4 is open to those who would like to run/walk and is untimed. There will be light food and drinks available as well as music and socializing for those who would like to hang-out after completing the route.
