Crypto as Sustainable Development Tool

Blockchain and bitcoin are now global news, but we hear so much about them as speculative investments for the already wealthy, and massive carbon emitters – could it be that blockchain and cryptocurrencies could actually be tools that can help us foster sustainable development? The answer is yes, if we take time to understand the decentralized finance system and cooperatively-governed business structures that blockchain and crypto can be used to build. Brigitte Small, a blockchain and business strategy consultant of Queensbridge Associates, London, has offered to give a brief presentation to us law students and facilitate a discussion about crypto and its potential as a tool for building more equitable and ecologically vital finance systems, businesses and communities.
