Join the Global Environmental Thought Leader on Campus or by Livestream on October 12

SOUTH ROYALTON, Vermont (Oct. 6, 2022) — Bill McKibben, author, educator, and global environmental thought leader, is speaking at Vermont Law and Graduate School on Wednesday, October 12 from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The public is invited to join the discussion on campus, or can tune in for a livestream of the event.

An Evening with Bill McKibben will be an intimate discussion hosted by Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale, followed by a Q&A. Bill McKibben will be talking about his latest reflections and initiatives, what he envisions for law and policy students joining the movement, and what is currently giving him hope.

Bill McKibben has written 18 books, including The End of Nature, a pivotal 1989 text that introduced many people to the reality of climate change. He co-founded the climate change advocacy group 350.org, and more recently founded The Third Act, a non-profit that rallies the older generations to fight for action on climate and justice.

“Bill has been a leading voice in the global conversation around climate change and other environmental issues for over 30 years,” Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale, Adjunct Professor at Vermont Law and Graduate School, said. “He has inspired generations of students to pursue environmental careers, and we are thrilled to have him join us on campus.”

“I am looking forward to sitting down with the students at Vermont Law and Graduate School to discuss the many ways they can enact positive change through law and policy,” said McKibben. “These students are going to be agents for change at the center of the biggest environmental and social justice issues facing the world today.”
