Building on its strong foundation of animal law and policy course offerings, Vermont Law and Graduate School’s (VLGS) Animal Law and Policy Institute is proud to announce the launch of an online and residential Animal Law LLM degree program. This degree program is designed for law graduates from around the world to advance their careers in animal law advocacy and scholarship.
Full-time LLM students can complete the program in 12 months, but students have up to five years to obtain their degree. The 30-credit degree may be earned through over a dozen specialized animal law and policy and nearly 100 environmental and public interest practice courses. The program may be started in either the summer or fall semester beginning in the fall of 2023.
VLGS’s degree programs provide students with real-world opportunities to build the necessary skills to make a difference in the lives of animals. Courses are taught by leading scholars and practitioners who are committed to providing practical and meaningful learning experiences. VLGS programs also help students build connections in the animal advocacy and academic communities, providing support and mentorship for graduates’ career goals throughout their journey.
“Since I joined the VLGS faculty, I’ve continually heard from lawyers across the world who are interested in focusing their work on animals and seeking practical training to help them succeed,” said VLGS Associate Professor and Animal Law and Policy Institute Director Delcianna Winders. “With the launch of the Animal Law LLM, I’m thrilled that we can now provide exactly that training.”
