Patrick El Saddik JD’24 resolved to pursue law in March 2020—at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Originally from Lebanon, he had flown to the U.S. to visit family right before lockdown began. Though this timing didn’t match his original plan for attending law school, Patrick decided to take the leap.
He ultimately chose Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS) to pursue his passion for international law and was awarded a merit scholarship. During Patrick’s time at VLGS, he honed in on human rights and immigration.
After graduating in 2024, Patrick now works at Hiscock Legal Aid Society in Syracuse, New York, and uses his background to address civil and political rights, economic and social rights, and the protection of marginalized people.

The National Jurist recently released a piece about Patrick’s law journey, the scope of his practice, and his advice to current and future law students. Read the full article by clicking the button below.
