Legal action against monopolies and corporate consolidation plays a crucial role in our food system, especially with the recent merger of grocery giants and price fixing by food manufacturers. In the U.S., four companies control over seventy percent of all beef processing and nearly half of all retail grocery markets.

Antitrust is relevant not just in food and agriculture, but as a rising issue in the tech industry as it faces scrutiny from the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission with cases against Google.
