Constitution Day Program
September 17 @ 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm EDT
Constitution Day is an annual celebration to mark the day in 1787 when the delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the U.S. Constitution in Philadelphia. In Vermont, the occasion has been marked by a gathering of legal experts, students, and the public at Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS)—in conjunction with the Vermont Bar Association (VBA)—to talk about major issues facing our democracy. This year’s theme is “Voices of Democracy,” and plans are set for a thought-provoking discussion that is open to all.
Panelists will include Vermont Supreme Court Chief Justice Paul Reiber and Associate Justice Harold Eaton, along with Superior Court judges Heather Gray and Daniel Richardson. Professor Peter Teachout will also be on the panel, which will be moderated by VBA President Judith Dillon. All in-person attendees will receive a pocket Constitution.
If you’re unable to join us in person on the VLGS campus, a livestream will also be available. You can access the livestream via the button below or by clicking here.
