Presidential Immunity Lecture: Trump v. United States
November 13 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm EST
Vermont Law and Graduate School President Rod Smolla will discuss the potential impact of the Supreme Court’s July 1, 2024, decision that under the constitutional structure of separated powers, a former President is entitled to absolute immunity from criminal prosecution for actions within his conclusive and preclusive constitutional authority and is also entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for all of his official acts. This decision granted near total legal immunity for any official actions taken by the President of the United States.
This virtual event is presented by the League of Women Voters of Vermont and the Kellogg-Hubbard Library as a part of the League’s lecture series on recent Supreme Court decisions. It is free and open to the public. For more information and to RSVP, please click the button below.
