The Embedded Racism of Language Access Barriers

People of color who have Limited English Proficiency (LEP) face compounded barriers to accessing human health services and the legal system. Anti-discrimination laws aim to remedy those barriers, by requiring meaningful language access to government-funded programs and services. But do these laws do enough to ensure equal access for Vermont’s LEP communities?
