The United States v. TikTok: A Moot Supreme Court Case
November 8 @ 9:30 am – 10:30 am EST
Vermont Law and Graduate School President Rod Smolla will be conducting an interactive moot court exercise based on the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Application Act” (often referred to as the “TikTok Ban”) and a subsequent federal lawsuit which claims that the Act violates the First Amendment’s guarantee of freedom of speech. Audience members will hear oral arguments on the constitutionality of the ban and act as members of the United States Supreme Court, ultimately deciding the outcome.
Presented in partnership with Junction Arts and Media (JAM) and Lebanon High School, this event is free and open to the public. JAM will also be recording the event. Please RSVP via the button below.
