New Hire Will Build, Promote Institution’s Brand and Story
Vermont Law and Graduate School has hired Lisa Lance as vice president of communications.
In this role, Lance will develop communications strategies to promote, enhance and protect the reputation of Vermont Law and Graduate School.
She will build the institution’s brand and value proposition, manage public relations strategy and increase awareness around the school’s mission — to educate students in a diverse community that fosters personal growth and that enables them to attain outstanding professional skills and high ethical values with which to serve as lawyers and environmental and other professionals in an increasingly technological and interdependent global society.
“Vermont Law and Graduate School has a strong record of meaningful work by students, alumni, faculty and staff,” said Lance. “It’s an exciting moment to join the VLGS team, and I’m looking forward to advancing the institution’s mission and strategic plan at this time of transformation.”
Lance brings with her more than 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing, from directing thought leadership and social media campaigns to managing content marketing and strategy for a wide variety of organizations, with an emphasis in the education, nonprofit and technology sectors.
Most recently she served as director of communications and marketing for ABET, the global accreditor of college and university STEM programs.
Lance has also been frequently published as a freelance writer and has served as editor of two literary journals. She holds degrees from Purdue University and Johns Hopkins University and in June will graduate from the Executive MBA program at the University of Maryland Robert H. Smith School of Business.
“Lisa Lance brings to VLGS a wealth of experience, and we are fortunate to have her on our team,” the school’s president, Rod Smolla, said. “We are excited to continue innovating, creating changemakers and sharing our story, with Lisa at the helm.”
