Vermont Law School students will host Mountainfilm on Tour, a movie night designed to educate and motivate audiences about global issues, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in Chase Community Center on the VLS campus. The event, open to the public, will feature documentaries that reflect environmental, energy, and outdoor recreation themes.
Mountainfilm on Tour is an extension of the Mountainfilm Festival, a four-day event held each Memorial Day weekend since 1979 in Telluride, Colo. It is part film festival, part ideas summit, and part jamboree. Mountainfilm attracts leading independent documentary filmmakers, artists, photographers, conservationists, mountaineers, scientists, journalists, and explorers from around the world. Each year, Mountainfilm on Tour takes a selection of outstanding films from the Telluride festival on the road to engage audiences who otherwise would not have an opportunity to experience them. This year, more than 70,000 people will attend the event at 150 locations across the country.
Vermont Law School students encourage guests to bring their favorite camping chair or picnic blanket to the VLS event, which will have a campout theme. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets, free for VLS students and $7 for general admission, can be purchased at the door. Refreshments will be served.
