Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS) is celebrating 50 years by launching a multi-year giving campaign. The theme of the campaign is Bold Action — Global Change, and the school has already secured more than half of its $20 million goal focused on raising unrestricted operating revenue.

Established in 1972, VLGS graduated its first class of law students in 1976. To commemorate fifty years of significant contributions to legal education, environmental law and policy innovation, and social justice leadership, the campaign will continue through 2026 and beyond to reach its goal of securing financial support for the school’s many pioneering programs and strategic goals.

Dave Celone, VLGS alumnus and vice president of alumni relations and development, noted the impact VLGS makes in the Upper Valley region as an employer and nonprofit provider of free legal services to underserved members of the community. “Now is the time for everyone to recognize and support the extraordinary efforts of Vermont Law and Graduate School to improve lives and save our world from climate-related harm and social injustice,” said Celone. “We educate exemplary and ethical lawyers and policymakers who have had a profound impact locally, regionally, nationally, and globally for nearly fifty years.”
