Vermont Law and Graduate School has hired Robert Sommo as its new vice president for enrollment and marketing. Sommo joins the law school from the Silver School of Social Work at New York University, where he helped diversify and grow the student body and assisted in building a welcoming and embracing environment for prospects, students, and employees.

Sommo began his work at the start of the fall 2022 term.

“All of us at Vermont Law and Graduate School are excited by Rob Sommo’s appointment,” Vermont Law and Graduate School President Rod Smolla said. “He brings decades of experience from New York University and will be an integral part of our efforts to be sure the world knows about VLGS’ world-class programs.”

In his new role, Sommo will carry out the newly rebranded law school’s strategic plan, working to build awareness of its new graduate and certificate programs, and continuing to generate interest in the existing Juris Doctorate program.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the incredible team here at the Vermont Law and Graduate School. I look forward to working together with my colleagues to continue to build and grow the brand and reputation of this already impressive school. VLGS offers degrees that are meaningful and impactful for our community and the world, and I am proud to be a part of this effort,” said Sommo.
