“We are pleased with the ruling that U.S. District Court Judge Geoffrey W. Crawford handed down today, which confirms that our decision to remove the mural from public view is in compliance with the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 (VARA).
 
Vermont Law School will now be able to cover the mural in support of our students and community members who find the mural offensive because of how it caricatures enslaved Africans specifically, and casually stereotypes Black bodies in general.”
