In addition to serving on the Adjunct Faculty, Mr. Knapp is Senior Counsel of Dinse, PC, a Burlington, Vermont law firm, where his practice concentrates on legal issues affecting hospital systems, physicians, and other providers. He rejoined the firm in October, 2018 after serving for 16 years as General Counsel of University of Vermont Medical Center and University of Vermont Health Network, overseeing the legal issues of an academic medical center and growing multi-hospital, two-state health system.

Before becoming General Counsel, Mr. Knapp served as Managing Partner of the Dinse firm for many years. His practice as a health lawyer, spanning five decades, has covered the range of complex matters impacting health providers, including mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, antitrust, tax, hospital-physician relationships, professional liability, and regulatory compliance. He has particular interest in the pragmatic, professional and ethical components of successful health lawyering in the rapidly shifting health policy environment. Mr. Knapp is a Member of the American Health Lawyers Association and a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and speaks often on health law topics. He is a graduate with high honors of Cornell Law School and Trinity College (Hartford).
