Vermont Law and Graduate School’s Beth Locker has been selected to serve on the executive committee for the Association of American Law School’s Clinical Legal Education Section.
Locker serves as associate dean for experiential learning and professor of law at VLGS. In addition to teaching, she oversees the school’s externship program and nine clinics, leading the application of diverse and immersive experiential learning opportunities for JD and master’s degree students.
The Clinical Legal Education Section is the largest AALS section with 1800 members. In her three-year role with the executive committee for the section, Locker will advocate for clinical faculty, support professional development, enhance curricula, participate in selecting winners of faculty awards, and provide general support of section members and the clinical community in efforts to advance racial justice.
Locker joins representatives from law schools around the country, including the University of Virginia School of Law, Fordham University, American University, Boston University, Duke University and others. A full list can be found here.
The 124-year-old association acts as a voice for legal education, promoting values including excellence in teaching and scholarship, academic freedom and diversity.
