Vermont Law School students, faculty and staff will perform "The Vagina Monologues" to benefit Safeline Vermont, a regional organization that serves victims of domestic and sexual violence, from 7:30 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, in Chase Community Center at VLS.
Tickets—$5 in advance, $8 at the door—include admittance to a 7 p.m. reception with light refreshments. Tickets may be purchased on campus and online at eventbrite.com.
The show's hosts, Law Students for Reproductive Justice, Women's Law Group, and Alliance, encourage the public to join the VLS community to increase awareness of and join the fight to stop violence against women and girls.
Written by Eve Ensler, The Vagina Monologues is a stage production based on different women's experiences and connections to womanhood. The show is part of the larger V-Day, a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls through creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation, and sex slavery.
